Can Flaxseed Help With Arthritis Pain?

Living with arthritis can be a very difficult challenge. Every movement hurts, from sitting down, to standing up to just walking across the room, you just can’t seem to be able to live comfortably. If you have problems with arthritis, try flaxseed oil. Studies have shown that flaxseed oil may help relieve the pain from arthritis. You may find yourself asking, why would I want to try flaxseed oil if I can get on prescription drugs? Some people don’t have the option of taking prescriptions, however, and others would rather use natural products to help relieve their arthritis pain. The thing you have to keep in mind is that flaxseed is natural and it doesn’t cost hundreds of dollars as many prescriptions do. The only drawback is that all natural ingredients such as flaxseed aren’t covered by insurance so you have to weigh the good and the bad before taking flaxseed oil for your arthritis pain.

Not Covered By Insurance

The first thing you have to realize is that flaxseed isn’t covered by insurance. Using flaxseed for arthritis pain isn’t approved by the FDA as many prescriptions are. The good thing about this is that flaxseed doesn’t cost that much money. A month’s supply can cost anywhere from thirty to a hundred dollars, which is a lot less than many prescriptions cost without insurance. Not only that, but you know that putting flaxseed into your body to help relieve your arthritis pain is an all natural product. For those who don’t trust prescriptions, this is the best option.

What Does It Do?

Using flaxseed for arthritis pain has many benefits. First and foremost, it can help relieve the inflammation in your joints and muscles. Using flaxseed has also shown to help kidney function, it can thin your blood, and it can even help with your cholesterol. When compared to prescriptions that only help with pain, these are some great benefits that should be taken advantage of.

You can find flaxseed in any health food store and you can even find it at your grocery store in the vitamin section. Before you start any health regimen, however, even if just to relieve arthritis pain, you should consult with your doctor to make sure it is, in fact, arthritis and not something more serious. Tell your doctor you will be using flaxseed and see what he or she says. You never know, you could find that taking the all natural ingredient flaxseed completely frees you of arthritis pain once and for all.

Getting Over Diabetes? Just Forget It…

You may or may not know the fact that according to a recent survey, in the US alone, an estimated 18,200,000 people are suffering from diabetes. It is estimated that 15,000,000 are not yet diagnosed. What does it mean? Diabetes is the third leading cause of death in the USA!

Diabetes is not a simple problem; it is a very serious condition that could lead to blindness, heart disease, kidney failure, nerve damage, excessive infection leading to limb amputation and even death. If you suddenly changed the medicines there is a chance of causing nausea, diarrhea, skin rash, weight gain, respiratory infections, liver damage, and headaches.

So, these people have found out from their Family doctors to change their lifestyles, medicines, lose weight and so on. But does it really work?

Does a conservative prescription treatment help control blood sugar permanently?

There are two common types of diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disorder, where the body’s immune system destroys the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas.

Type 2 diabetes, on the other hand, happens when the body’s cells no longer respond to changes in insulin levels. There are alternative treatments for diabetes of either type.

But now there is a safe and clinically proven successful solution to control blood sugar.
That is natural herbs or so called herbal medicines. This will help to improve the overall health without any side effects. In fact there are many types of herbs available for the treatment of different kind of diseases.

Nowadays herbal medicines are becoming popular, but at the same time many people are not aware. I don’t know why people will come to conclusion that Herbs will not cure any type of diseases. It may take some time to cure a certain disease because natural medicinal herbs stimulate your immune system to fight diabetes and this process takes time. But the effect will remain forever.

You can see improvement in your health condition provided, you start taking it regularly and accurately as prescribed. Many people have the tendency to self-medicate, because herbal remedies usually can’t do you any harm. However, remember that herbs won’t work if you chose the wrong herb, quantity or treatment.

There are many medicinal herbs to control diabetes. It would be very smart to find as much information as possible about different types of medicinal herbs. If you decide to go to doctor, then it is well and good. But if opt to buy through a website, then opt for the best.

Can You Fight Bulimia And Other Food Addictions With Natural Medicine

Bulimics and other food addicts eat compulsively. They can’t stop their compulsive behavior once they have started their binge eating and tend to disregard the consequences of their behaviors.

These people are persistently preoccupied with buying, preparing, cooking and eating food. They also can sneak or steal food, hide the food in their bags, cupboards, drawers and other places.

When the food supply is cut off, withdrawal symptoms can occur, including chills, dizziness, headaches, poor concentration, nausea and lethargy.

A food-related addiction can also be accompanied by co addictions. Many bulimics may also binge on alcohol or get addicted to prescription drugs or even over-the-counter medications like diuretics and laxatives. Bulimics may be addicted to cigarettes to help moderate their food cravings.

The treatment for food addicts and bulimics is complex. Behavioral therapy, family therapy, nutritional therapy and even hospitalization can be used to treat sufferers.

But the most difficult thing in the treatment process still remains their coping with cravings to binge or binge and purge during the recovery process.

If only you can stop these cravings to overeat things would be different! Some sufferers even describe it as little voices in their head that force them to binge. If only you can stop the little voices or at least make them not as strong people maybe able to cope better.

Many methods have been tried to kick a food addiction. The most beneficial methods are probably the ones which involved changing a person’s way of thinking and dealing with emotions. But I also found that some herbal therapy can help you to fight your food addiction also.

These herbs seem to be useful for kicking food addictions:

Gymnema blocks the taste and metabolism of sugar if consumed before eating. It can quickly help your body stop sugar dependency.

Amla is rich in nutrients, especially vitamin C. Ayurvedic medicine uses it a lot to help people feel lighter and happier. It is also a mild laxative.

Alfalfa is also rich in nutrients, vitamins and minerals. But the main benefit is that it contains enzymes that helps digest the food (for bulimics it is necessary because bulimics have slow digestive processes).

Ginger stimulates circulation to all parts of the body. Also it improves digestion and gives body more energy.

Burdock improves fat metabolism and eliminates extra water from the body. It is very beneficial for kidney, liver and bowel function.

Nettle is a traditional remedy for cellulite. Also eliminates extra water from the body and stimulates blood circulation.

Dandelion Root improves liver function and metabolism of fat. The leaf is a natural diuretic and is rich in trace minerals, especially potassium.

Fennel Seed is a natural appetite suppressant and helps to control your cravings for specific foods.

Cola Nut is a stimulant. It contains caffeine and theobromine. It can be used to suppress hunger and mental exhaustion.

Cinnamon is naturally sweet. It can lower the desire for other sugars. It also improves circulation.

St. John’s Wort is a natural antidepressant and anxiety reliever. It can help to stop emotional eating.

Valerian Root is a natural sedative. It also can be used to stop emotional eating.

Yerba Mate works as an appetite suppressant, an antidepressant and a mild stimulant. It can stop a binging cycle. It is also rich in nutrients, minerals and vitamins.

Flaxseed oil can help to stop cravings for fatty food. Take a one tablespoon of this oil daily to stop fat cravings.

This is only a few of many other herbs that can help to fight food addictions and bulimia. If you need more information please drop me a note.

Medicine And Self Healing With The Mind Body Link

The growing body of research shows that the mind and body respond to each other, certain emotional and psycholgical states bring about changes in the chemical balance in the body. The role of thoughts and emotions on a persons ability to heal is often overlooked by medical practitioners. They know, as most do that the “Placebo effect” is well documented, for example where a sugar pill is substituted for the usual medication with a patient and yet the patient still reports an improvement as if they had the prescribed medication. The key factor here is that the patient believes the pill will make a difference.
Whilst there is no suggestion that we should all be lied to and given sugar pills instead of other medications it is important to remember what it teaches us.

When we experience illness it can be a frightening time, we feel sometimes out of control and that all adds to the stress. Certain life experiences can predispose us to illness as in for instance the death of a loved one, loss of a job. This is because it affects our whole way of thinking and being. We feel vulnerable and our thoughts and feelings take a negative turn. It can take a strong will to pull back from those feelings. Most often what is happening is that the trigger event reminds us of another time when we felt alone, abandoned or vulnerable and all the old fears start up again.

Imagine that you are a small packet of dried peas, quite comfortable in your packet but then some water starts to get in like the stress accumulating in your life, it may just dribble in to start with and you manage, but the peas are expanding inside the packet. Gradually pressure builds and builds as the peas expand taking on board all this additional water until finally something has to give. The weakest part of the packet (possibly your nervous system, or weak part of your body) gives out first. You can see that the emotional pressure has to find a way out and if it is not being dealt with then it will come out another way…lack of sleep, illness, depression.

Releasing old hurts, fears, emotional blocks and barriers can free up the body to get on with its healing process. It can also prevent illness in the first place. Quite often people need to reconnect with themselves, that is with their thoughts, feelings and physical body which quite often gets taken for granted and ignored. Illness can be the bodys’ way of getting your attention to the fact that all is not well with you. The best way of dealing with this is to work with your sub conscious mind. There are many ways to do this and many CDs, books, workshops and therapists available to assist this process. Generally to achieve a result quickly you will need guidance and some practical and personal help as the most effective techniques require a competent practitioner, but just opening up to listening to your own body and being aware that the symptoms do not tell you the whole story is a good start.
