What Drives Us Forward?
If taking action is the key to producing results, why doesn’t everybody take action? Why doesn’t everybody follow through on their plans? Why is it that so many people know what they should do, but still don’t do it?
The most common reasons are: ‘I lack motivation’, ‘I’m too lazy’, ‘I don’t feel confident’ or ‘I am afraid that…’ Is this true for you as well? If you are like most people, you would probably be nodding your head.
For example, you know that you should start exercising three times a week, but you put it off because you feel lazy. As a salesperson, you know you should make ten cold calls a day, but you don’t do it because you don’t feel like being rejected. You know that public speaking will help your career, but you don’t get on stage and face the audience because you feel the fear.
At the same time, there are many things we do, knowing full well that we shouldn’t! Why is that so? That’s because we feel like doing it.
For example, you know that eating that extra piece of delicious chocolate cake is bad for your weight/health but you still do it because you feel greedy. You know that you shouldn’t go back to sleep when the alarm rings, but you still lie in because it feels so good.
Have you ever experienced a day when you managed to get a lot of things done? When your ideas flowed, when you made the best decisions and you were absolutely on form? Well on those ‘top of form’ days, you were in a series of resourceful states.
Then again, have you had days when you couldn’t get anything done? When you couldn’t do anything right? You said and did the most stupid things? How could this happen? You were the same person and had exactly the same resources available to you. The difference was that you were not in a resourceful state.
If you think about it, ‘motivation’, ‘fear’, ‘confidence’, ‘inertia - expressed as procrastination’, are nothing but emotional states we experience.
Emotional ‘States’ like ‘excitement’, ‘passion’, ‘confidence’, and ‘happiness’, ‘exhilaration ‘get us to take action and perform at our peak.
At the same time, states like ‘ fear’, ‘anxiety’, ’stress’, ‘inertia’, ‘depression’, ‘tiredness’ hold us back.
It is not logic that drives our actions. It is our emotions. Very often, we know that logically we should do something, but we don’t do it because we don’t feel like doing it.
People who take consistent action and produce great results do so because they experience many more resourceful states on a daily basis.
It is truly our emotional ’states’ that drive our actions and behaviors all the time. How we feel truly determines what we do and how we do it.
It is these empowering states that allow us to get the best out of themselves!

Realtor Tips - Body Language
Smile. Look them in the eye. Don’t cross your arms. Don’t get too close. Use their body language. Don’t blink too much.
Everyone has something to say about how you present yourself. But sometimes I wonder if we can go to far when following these instructions.
I wonder if they don’t sometimes wonder if the guy looking them directly in the eye the whole time is well a little scary. If the the guy who smiles so much maybe just doesn’t have enough of a clue to know when he shouldn’t smile. If that guy who never blinks might be a robot.
I have heard about all these little body language things for many years. I think we have all heard about them at some point or another. Hey, it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to tell me that when you smile, it relaxes people. But we don’t always do it. Sometimes we have to think about it. I wonder if that’s not just the worst thing in the world.
I mean, I know I shouldn’t cross my arms all the time. It seems like I’m mad or maybe in a power stance. And putting your hands on your hips is the same. But many is the time I have stood there with my arms dangling to my sides going, I want to do something with my arms! I can’t just let them swing there! It feels too weird! I mean, they’re SWINGING, for Gods sake!
And I KNOW that people hate it (OK, well, I know that I hate it) when people answer the phone by saying what a great day it is before even saying hello. No one wants to hear someone THAT irrationally cheerful. Its even more annoying when I am having a bad day.
At the same time, I know that people do notice things like that maybe just subconsciously, but they do. And I know I would rather work with someone who is pleasant to be around, and who makes me feel at east. That’s why I work for myself, after all. But their has to be a way to have a positive outlook and not send out signals that you are mad and unhappy without seeming like some insane robot person.
As I move forward in my career I just want to find that fine line between coming across with cheerful competence, vs coming across like an insane psychopath.

For Things To Change You Must Change First…
People always say, “What if it is really not my fault? What if the situation is totally out of my hands?”
In actual fact we always play a role in creating whatever is happening to us, whether consciously or subconsciously.
We create our experiences either through our thoughts or our actions. You can say something emphatically, but if you are thinking something else, people can pick up the vibes, or it will show up in your body language.
People who are in control of their lives believe that they create their world. If everything is going great, then they created it, not anybody else. If things are not going well, then they created it as well.
Some people tell me that they never get a good break. They never get lucky enough to land a great pportunity. They are never at the right place at the right time. I believe you create your own luck. Or I prefer the word opportunity or break.
If you never find any good opportunities, it could be because of your limiting beliefs and thoughts. If you believe that there are no opportunities around, your mind will tend to delete all the great opportunities, even if they are there right before you.
Once there was a woman who had been looking for the right partner for the last 20 years. She was in her late 30s and getting concerned she would never find her ideal guy.
When asked what she was looking for, she started describing this perfect man who had to be rich, handsome, humorous, sensitive and charming.
When asked bluntly, ‘Would this man with all these traits want to marry you?’ She had no answer.
If she wanted to attract the perfect man, she must first be that perfect woman to attract him!
One single most important message in this article is, for things to change, we must first change ourselves. When we take responsibility for what we get and change ourselves, everything and everybody else will change with us!
So, If you want to attract the best staff, be the best boss. If you want to have the best kids, be the best parent. If you want the perfect wife, then be that perfect husband. If you want the highest income, add the greatest value. If you want to attract the best customers, become the best company.
It will serve us well to remember that we are responsible for creating the events and results in our lives. To attract and get the results and situation s that we want in life, we will need to work and change ourselves in the process. Focus on yourself and success is sure to come.

Who Am I: How To Find Out Your Life Purpose and Realize Your Higher Self
If you are overweight and have tried to go on a diet, more than likely you have heard the phrase: It is not a diet - it is a lifestyle change.
As clich as that phrase may be, it is extremely accurate. Buddhism is not necessarily a religion; it should be viewed as more of a way of life. Consider it a more complicated form of Aesop fables. Buddhism is a guide by which to live. It is a way to simplify your life and realize who you truly are. Here is how I view religion and all names and terms relating to religion. Imagine this: would Buddha call himself a Buddhist? He would laugh to himself. He is in fact, a seeker of Truth.
1) The Ego
Freud had a theory about the Ego, and Buddhism has another. The two have nothing in common with each other except the name. In Buddhism, the Ego is the illusion that you are an individual in this world. You say the word I without knowing who I is.
The Ego is the piece of you that is constantly looking at the clock and timing things. The Ego is what keeps you from attaining awakening, or a higher sense of self. This is what you have to get rid of if you truly want to know who you are.
2) Who Are You?
Did you ever drag out your old yearbook? I have been known to take mine out on occasion. I look at the person starting back at me and I remember all of the things that I wanted to do and wanted to be.
I wanted to be a lawyer and a mother. I wanted to live in an apartment in the city and eventually settle in the country. I remember wanting to explore my slight artistic talent, and I also remember wanting to meet Prince Charming.
There are often a number of things we want to be when we are young, but once we grow up, life and routine complicate matters. Bills intrude into our daydreams and having children turn us into staid parents instead of fun adults. Do you truly remember what you wanted? Do you have everything you wanted? Who are you?
3) Getting to Who You Are
You can find who you are and achieve your own awakening. To begin with, write down all of the things you used to want to do. It does not matter how silly they are! If you wanted to be a rodeo clown, write it down.
If you wanted to be the president, write that down. Take a look at your list. In that list you will see all of the personalities that lie within your one body. You will see the silliness and the business person. You will see everything you are, and everything you could be.
Next, take a look at your current life. Do you like where you are? I have a friend who went to college and became a teacher. I once asked her why she wanted to become a teacher.
Her answer was this: I am not sure. I guess because my mother is one.
I knew that her career was doomed to failure, and sure enough, a few years later, she quit teaching. She did what was expected of her instead of what she wanted to do, all because she could not figure out exactly what she wanted.
What do you want? Is it achievable? Some believe that almost everything is achievable as long as you are willing to focus yourself on your task and work hard to get it. Before you can get what you want, you have to know what you want. You need to know the type of person you want to be.
4) Devil or Angel?
Another friend of mine, Renee, used to be a very sweet woman. She was the first person to make another feel comfortable, and would do everything she could for you.
One day, I realized that the sweet Renee I always knew was gone, and an always-mad Renee had taken her place. It turns out that Renee was in a relationship that changed who she was. She achieved her own awakening when she woke up one morning and realized that she was not the person she wanted to be.
She got out of that relationship and got back to being her true self. She liked the old Renee and did not want to change.
Achieving an awakening is possible for everyone, but you cannot expect it to jump out and hit you over the head. You need to work for it and think hard about who you are and what you want out of life. Once you do that, you can achieve a higher sense of self.

2 Ways Low Self Esteem Hinders You
If you answer yes to any of these ten questions, you may be a victim of low self-esteem…
1. Are you afraid to take risks?
2. Do you usually anticipate the worst in any given situation and fear the outcome?
3. Do you simply fear the unknown?
4. Do you worry so much about what others think of you that you cannot perform?
5. Do you constantly wonder if other people are talking about you?
6. Do you seem to be more sensitive to negative feedback than other people are?
7. Do you fear criticism?
8. Is your life limited to a very small circle of people?
9. Are you happy and outgoing with your friends and family, but become quiet when people you don’t know enter the picture?
10. Are you open and comfortable talking with your own gender, but become tongue-tied around the opposite sex?
In this article I will discuss two critical problems associated with low self-esteem.
1. Low self-esteem limits your peace of mind, your personal freedom, and your ability to express yourself fully!
Because your low self-esteem makes you want to avoid social encounters your opportunity to build confidence is sacrificed. The more social encounters you avoid, the better you get at avoiding them! Therefore, you are actually reinforcing your fear.
It’s just like practicing to be a social retard - Soon you become frozen in fear and completely unable to function in normal social settings. This behavior is very frustrating and can destroy your peace. The “you” you were born to be is violated, and you cannot be your true, authentic self. By not allowing yourself to experience new things, you are perpetuating your fear, which lowers your self-esteem even more.
But, these problems are about how they are affecting you! What about how they are effecting other people?
2. Low self-esteem inhibits your ability to bless other people!
When you are so worried about what other people think of you, you become incapable of being a blessings. What’s happening is, your thoughts become inward, and you become more preoccupied with what kind of impression you’re making to care much about them. It has become “All about you!”
Those who experience low self-esteem tend to be viewed as unfriendly, standoffish, self-centered, arrogant, or even rude! No one wants to be around someone like that. In reality you are probably not really like that, but you may as well be. Your impression on other people is still the same.
How can you truly make a difference in someone else’s life if you can’t forget about yourself for a moment and just put yourself out there? The fact is you will never be ultimately happy while low self-esteem is holding you back.
Conclusion
God loves you no matter what your opinion of yourself is. You are “fearfully and wonderfully made,” created by Him who knew you while in your mother’s womb! He has a special plan just for you (Psalm 139:13-14). You are absolutely unique with strengths and abilities that know one else has, so don’t sell yourself short by letting low self-esteem rule you.
Monitor what you are allowing into your mind. Eliminate those things that make you feel small, incomplete, or even worthless. Soap operas, romance novels, scary movies, and the worst of all… pornography! They are are all bad news and can make your life a wreck!
Read the Book of John from the Bible regularly, plus some other good books on self-esteem written by Christian authors. Also, associate with people who have positive self-esteem.
The bottom line is, what you allow into your mind and What you intentionally put into it are directly linked to the situations and circumstances you find yourself in!

Discover How Your Tragic Events can open the Door for Your Future Success
They are people who pondered and asked why certain tragic events in life occurred to them. The events can be the loss of loved ones, loves ones leaving them, handling rejections from work and overcoming massive obstacles such as injury. It can be a daunting task going through such experiences but you realized that those who are willing to overcome the odds ultimately achieve success in their life.
Let us take a look at the following. Tom, a young guy in his early twenties, who has computer design skills, has finally found the courage to find a job. It was during the difficult economic recession period. He went for numerous job applications and was rejected. It was only after six months that he finally landed a job in small design company. Tom was excited and nervous during his first day. He was glad that finally he has a job. His day started slowly and his workload piled up, Tom also realized that he has no mentor. He was given task beyond his ability and skills. He found it difficult to adapt to the new pace. “This is only my first day at work”, he said to himself.
Finally, after 4 hours in job, Tom boss realized that he can barely managed the pace of the work. He called Tom into his office. He told Tom that he is not needed anymore. As Tom headed back home, he could not believe at the turn around of his life. Everything was well before. Now, he is facing failures after failures. Tom found it hard to accept it and broke down. But he was lucky to have supportive loved ones who encouraged him to keep going.
Tom did not give up. He kept on going. He realized that he wants to help nurture the young to learn from failures and be determined to achieve success in life. He found education as a wonderful tool to develop the young generation. He started by giving it back for free or minimal education fees for his services to educate them. After a few months, he decided to educate the young on a bigger scale. He went to various institutions to apply for a job there but he received countless rejections again. Finally after the umpteen times of trying, he finally landed a job that enabled him to contribute immensely to the young.
Tom still does face mistakes and failures in his attempts to inspire the young but this time around Tom with great experiences, realized failures are part of success. In fact, Tom uses it effectively to explain to the young about learning from your failures to keep going to achieve success in life. Tom felt that his past failures were actually paths leading to his definition of success. His moments of great satisfaction became a reality when one of the young he shared his experiences with said to him. “Mr Tom, you are so kind and I want to thank you for your sharing and inspiring us to have the courage to achieve success and dreams in life”. That moment he realized that his past tragic incidents in life opened the door for his current success in life. It was a moment to treasure.

Doing What You Love Will Lead You To Success!
Some people they think that success is something very exclusive and elusive, they think that being able to start a business is not easy, being able to become a millionaire is difficult.
So how does one reach his way towards the top and become successful?
Everybody wants to go after success but the funny thing is that if you ask the following question to many people, if you ask them “What is success to you?” They will stare you blankly in the face and they say, “I don’t know”.
I don’t know about you but there are many people, they want success but they don’t quite strive for it.
If I were to ask you this question, what do you really love to do? What are you interested in? And if you say computer games, that’s fine.
If you say, playing golf, that’s fine.
Here’s my take on the above answers, if you could do that for the rest of your life, would you be motivated?
The answer would be a definite yes. And I am sure that you would give it your hundred percent and thus be successful in what you do.
As far as doing the things that you love, there are some people who say, “Hey, I want to do something that I love but it’s not going to get me that kind of income.
Let’s say someone loves drawing cartoons. They will have this big question in their head, “Is drawing cartoons really going to lead me to success?
Here’ my answer this, “Anything that you love to do can lead you to a lot of wealth and success provided you know the way to market It”
For example, if you love lizards, if you got a fetish and passion for lizards, can you become a millionaire? Of course you can.
You know why? In the entire world of, 3 to 4 billion people, there are people who love lizards and would like to know more about lizards. Knowledge like how to feed lizards, and how to take care of them.
Here’s another example, if you love Star Wars, do you think there are millions of people out there who would love Star Wars?. If you can come out with a realistic looking light-saber, or you can compile the best quotes said by Yoda, there could be a market for that.
So, you must have the marketing savvy to bring your knowledge and then your love, to that market.
The trouble with most people is that they though they have a talent for something, they do not know how to market. So I’ll say that the key to be able to succeed in anything, is that you must learn how to market, you must learn how to sell and also how to manage your finances.
And when your passion of whatever you do then comes in naturally, that will make you very successful in whatever you do.

Are you Communicating Effectively?
Success in life usually means being successful with people. Rarely do you see someone ever make it to the top alone. And being successful with people is all about communication.
Whenever we communicate with someone, do we always get the response we want? In our attempts to motivate our staff, do they always respond by getting motivated? Do we manage to transfer the meaning of our communication across in the manner we expect all the time?
The answer is a flat no!
Learning and applying the following strategy on effective communication will enable us to communicate more effectively and successfully.
Words, Tonality & Body Language
Communication consists of three major elements. The words we use, our tone of voice and our body language.
According to research, the total impact of our communication consists of words (7%), Tone of voice (38%) and body language (55%). Body language is made up of our facial expression, gestures, posture, breathing pattern, eye movement and muscle tension.
Although what we say is extremely important, it is the least impactful when compared to how we say it (tone of voice and our body language).
As a salesperson, your ability to effectively communicate your product benefits determines the outcome of the sale.
As a business owner, your ability to motivate your staff, attract new clients and investors is determined by your power as a communicator.
To be an effective teacher or parent, you must be able to motivate, inspire, convince, build rapport and sell ideas to your children or students.
You can tell a client how great and exciting your company is but if your tone of voice is dull, your face expressionless and your body is sagging with fatigue, it would be difficult to expect him to buy or accept your idea.
Or you could be a teacher with the most deadpan expression and tone of voice wondering what is the reason of you not being able to motivate or inspire the students under your charge.
The point is that when we communicate, we mustn’t only pay attention to our words, neglecting the more important factors of our tone of voice and our body language.
In order to communicate effectively, it is imperative for us to make sure that our non verbal communication is not sabotaging us, but aligned and congruent with our highest thoughts, enabling us mastery of the communication process.
Master the art of communication and you’ll start to see success become easier to achieve because people who like will help you on your way to achieving your goals.

Want To Be Rich & Successful? Learn How To Sell!
I always tell people that the number one life skill you must have if you want to be rich and successful is that you must learn to sell.
The trouble with a lot of people is, especially those who are highly educated, with a degree or honours degree say, “I don’t sell.”
Being a degree holder myself, I think that it is the most stupid thing in the world. If I were to ask you, “Do you know who the world’s greatest salesperson is?”
I’ll tell you who it is. I would say it’s the President of United States or any president or prime minister. You know why? He’s got to go out there and he’s got to sell himself, in order for you to vote for him.
Do you think it’s easy? Look at George Bush for an example, he won his election just narrowly by 51 % of the votes. This means 49% of people, said no to him, they hated him probably.
But do you think he cares? He doesn’t care
So if the president of the United States, who is the most powerful man on Earth can sell and take rejection, why can’t you?
I believe that the main reason why a lot of people are afraid of selling, is because of ego.
This is especially so for those who have an MBA or Degree. And that’s what holds most people back. And that’s why, I hate to say this. Most people with a Degree or PHD won’t succeed as much in business as to someone who doesn’t.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. I told myself that although I have a degree I will not let my ego get in the way. You just got to learn how to sell. And if you think about the irony of it, a lot of times we are already selling , we are just not aware of it.
For example, most of us would have probably been on a date, before. If you are on a date, what were you selling? You’re selling yourself.
This also applies even if you are a doctor. A lot of doctors in the medical profession, especially those in the GP arena, a lot of them are suffering.
Why? That’s because they are good at the technical aspects, but they can’t sell themselves, they can’t smile at you when you come into their office, they don’t know how to market.
So it’s the person who knows how to sell that makes the best doctor, the best lawyer, in whatever profession that may be. But again the substance must be there. That presupposed substance must be there and selling is like that huge cherry on top that makes people want to eat your cake.

How Peak Performers Get Things Done - With The Same 24 Hours In A Day
DO you have the feeling that 24 hours in a day is never enough and sleep is really overrated?
Learn from the peak performers. They:
(1) do not seem to need any sleep
(2) are always motivated in almost anything
(3) handle the workload of three people and
(4) bear a strong resemblance to the Duracell Bunny ( forever in the pink of health, highly sought after and shows no sign of slowing down).
So what are they doing to organize their lives, make wise decisions, get things done, achieve phenomenal success and best of all, find time to enjoy life?
Let’s take a leaf from the book of the high achievers and discover what gives them the energy for peak performance! (And whether or not they run on batteries)
Here are 4 strategies that peak performers used in self-management.
1) Know your motivator.
All peak performers know clearly what goals they are working towards; it is their core desire and passion, it is their purpose in life! They have ’seen’ their own future where all the late-night-sleeps, TV-abstinence and other sacrifices make it possible. The thought of being one step closer to their ‘finishing line’ with every step that they take, gives them all the energy and motivation they need.
We can see this strategy as a safety net. When we are procrastinating, feeling tired, asking ourselves, “Is there really a need to work so hard?” or just wanting to let go of everything, we can always rely on our motivator to give us the support we need.
2) Think before you act, always
In the midst of a multi-tasking environment, it is so easy to succumb to poor decision making; just choose whatever the easiest route is. Peak performers will take some time, everyday, to reorganize their thoughts. Before they attempt anything, they will decide if it is aligned with their purpose, mission or values first before doing it. When they see a new opportunity, they will stop to ponder whether it is useful to him, instead of shrugging it off.
High achievers understand that “great haste makes great waste”. A wrong decision, a choice made on impulse (e.g procrastination) can waste their time, money and energy.
3) Act!
When they are very sure that things need to be done, they make sure it’s done. No excuses are given, 100% focus on the task ahead.
Progress is built upon actions, not empty words. Delayed action means slower progress and a longer time to reach their targets.
4) Innovation
This final attribute is what differentiates the peak performers from the computers.
A computer may generate the results of a million calculations easily, but it plays by a finite set of rules, its level of comprehension is limited and based on algorithms, not unlike confined to a box. Conversely, peak performers can produce great results too, but it is the potential to think-out-of-the-box that matters. ‘Creativity’, ‘ingenuity’, let’s address it as ‘innovation’.
Innovation creates new opportunities, new markets and allows the human society to progress, for example: a 17-years old high school dropout who earn a five digit income monthly by providing free Myspace layout (Ashley Qualls of Whateverlife), a failed adhesive glue project to become a million dollar business ( 3M’s post-it-note), a supper of seaweed discarded in the snow which became a delicacy and an invaluable tool for microbiology research (agar cultures), et cetera.
So why is innovation so important to being a peak performer?
Prolonged high performance are not solo efforts, it is the result of leveraging upon the time, energy and money of other people. Some common forms of leverages includes, using automation, employees, loans, workable systems etc. It takes a innovative spirit to discover new leverages and improve upon existing ones.
And that is how peak performers have such high output! In other words, they know how to save valuable time by reducing the workload on the individual, by constantly using and modifying the leverages around them!
Then how can we develop an innovative spirit?
Being innovative requires the mind to form connections between the parameters of different events and subjects, and generate new idea. For example, “what if we can replace the hard wiring in a car with Bluetooth?” and “Would it be better if bullet-proof materials are made cheaper and lighter?”
For the connections to be formed, frequent exposure to new stimuli such as a new cultural experience, picking up a new skill or just conversing with strangers are needed.
Of course I have left out a great deal of details, this article is long enough as it is. However, you can always pick up a great book in your neighborhood library, or watch some great videos on the topic on Metacafe and YouTube. Don’t disregard them as collections of cheesy clips, there are wonderful materials in those websites (especially on lock-picking).
